PSR Program:
Our sponsorship program is very limited.
Completing an application form does not does not guarantee sponsorship with the ANC. The selection process is based on many factors. You will be contacted if and when we are ready to proceed with your application.
Person(s) you wish to Sponsor:
In order to qualify for Private Refugee Sponsorship:
- Refugees must be outside of their country of origin.
- Refugees residing in the following places are currently NOT eligible for sponsorship:
Libya, Yemen, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Iran, Australia, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden United Kingdom and the United States.
Co-Sponsors:
The Canadian Government requires that a Co-Sponsor:
- Must be over 18
- Must not have a criminal record
- Must reside in Newfoundland and Labrador and in the expected community of settlement
- Has sufficient financial resources and expertise to support the Sponsorship
- Has NOT received any funds from the refugee they are supporting and will not require the refugee(s) to repay any of the cost of Sponsorship
ANC sponsors will NOT be accepted if they:
- Currently have more sponsorship applications in progress
- Have lived in Canada for less than 1 year
- Do not have the financial means to support the sponsorship. (Most commonly through consistent employment)
- If the "Settlement Plan" within the application of interest is not completed
Please Note:
- It is not possible to sponsor only 1 member of a family unit. The Co-Sponsor MUST name all family members whether they are accompanying the Principal Applicant to Canada or not
- The sponsoring group is obliged to provide support to all family members listed on the undertaking, regardless of the timing of their arrival in Canada.
Anyone who provides misleading information about themselves or the family they wish to sponsor may have their application withdrawn at a later date.
